Buen tenor y buen predicador, el P. Eleuterio inicio su apostolado sacerdotal en el santuario de los Milagros, en Maceda (Orense) de profesor e inspector del seminario menor.<\/p>

En 1933 le nombraron subdirector del noviciado en Hortaleza (Madrid). Era capell\u00e1n de las Trinitarias y estudiaba con brillantez una carrera universitaria. Fue un sacerdote valiente y cumplidor de su deber. En la c\u00e1rcel se hac\u00eda muy simp\u00e1tico por su ardor y esp\u00edritu religioso. Manifestaba deseos de salir de la c\u00e1rcel para ayudar a la causa de la religi\u00f3n y dec\u00eda que, aunque les mataran, vencer\u00eda la causa de Dios. Fue martirizado quince d\u00edas antes de cumplir los 33 a\u00f1os.<\/p>

MARTIRIO:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

\u00a0<\/strong>El P. Eleuterio Castillo era uno de los 13 Pa\u00fales de Hortaleza conducidos en un cami\u00f3n a la Direcci\u00f3n General de Seguridad con el p\u00e1rroco, su hermano y dos padres Oblatos, el 21 de julio despu\u00e9s de pasar la noche en el ayuntamiento del pueblo.<\/p>

Amenazados de muerte desde el primer momento, se prepararon con la oraci\u00f3n y la confesi\u00f3n sacramental. El 22 por la tarde ingresaron en la c\u00e1rcel Modelo. Su hermana Felisa y su esposo Juan Alonso Hidalgo, guardia civil destinado en el cuartel general de Guzm\u00e1n el Bueno, con vivienda en el mismo cuartel, buscaron la forma de ponerlo a salvo. Lo rescat\u00f3 un pariente con su carn\u00e9, avalado por el sindicato \u00fanico de sanidad (CNT-AIT) el d\u00eda 31 de agosto del mismo a\u00f1o, pero en la puerta de la c\u00e1rcel lo detuvieron y lo tuvieron retenido en una pensi\u00f3n hasta el 22 de septiembre que lo llevaron a la checa de las Milicias del POUM sita en el monasterio de las Salesas junto al cuartel. En la misma checa metieron a su cu\u00f1ado, Juan Alonso, sin otro cargo que haber protegido al religioso.<\/p>

En la madrugada del 3 de octubre de 1936 mataron juntos al P. Eleuterio Castillo y a su cu\u00f1ado, Juan Alonso Hidalgo, debajo de la ventana donde dorm\u00edan Felisa y sus cuatro hijos peque\u00f1os que oyeron perfectamente los tiros y llegaron a ver los cad\u00e1veres.<\/p>

\u00a0Leonor, la peque\u00f1a de los sobrinos, Carmelita descalza del monasterio de Loeches (Madrid), testific\u00f3 en el proceso. Felisa reconoci\u00f3 los cad\u00e1veres de su esposo y de su hermano y los acompa\u00f1\u00f3 en el entierro. Los propios milicianos dieron muerte tambi\u00e9n al pariente sindicalista que hab\u00eda intentado su libertad.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
