Sor Joaquina\u00a0se refugi\u00f3 con\u00a0Sor Victoria\u00a0en el pueblo cercano de Foyos, en la casa familiar de una Hermana. All\u00ed fueron localizadas y apresadas.<\/p><p>Llevadas ella y Sor Victoria\u00a0 a la sede del Comit\u00e9 comunista, fueron sentenciadas a muerte por su condici\u00f3n religiosa, juntamente con dos sacerdotes que hab\u00edan celebrado\u00a0la Eucarist\u00eda\u00a0clandestinamente en su refugio, D. Jos\u00e9 Ruiz y D. Y antes de ser fusilada en la tapia del\u00a0cementerio de Gilet, arrebat\u00f3 con viveza el arma al verdugo que intent\u00f3 violarla antes de disparar.<\/p><p>Entonces uno de los sacerdotes compa\u00f1ero de martirio, D. Jos\u00e9 Ruiz, le dijo que no\u00a0perdiera la ocasi\u00f3n de entrar triunfante en el Cielo. Reflexion\u00f3, entreg\u00f3 el arma y pidi\u00f3 perd\u00f3n p\u00fablicamente por su cobard\u00eda. Seguidamente pidi\u00f3 la absoluci\u00f3n a D. Jos\u00e9, ofreci\u00f3 el perd\u00f3n a sus perseguidores y acept\u00f3 los tiros de muerte mientras gritaba junto a Sor Victoria: \u00ab<em>Viva Cristo Rey\u00bb<\/em>.
