Sor Joaquina\u00a0se refugi\u00f3 con\u00a0Sor Victoria\u00a0en el pueblo cercano de Foyos, en la casa familiar de una Hermana. All\u00ed fueron localizadas y apresadas.<\/p><p>Llevadas ella y Sor Victoria\u00a0 a la sede del Comit\u00e9 comunista, fueron sentenciadas a muerte por su condici\u00f3n religiosa, juntamente con dos sacerdotes que hab\u00edan celebrado\u00a0la Eucarist\u00eda\u00a0clandestinamente en su refugio, D. Jos\u00e9 Ruiz y D. Ella misma pidi\u00f3 no proseguir m\u00e1s lejos para efectuarlo.<\/p><p>Previamente se arrodill\u00f3, encomend\u00f3 su alma a Dios, rez\u00f3 por sus perseguidores y les ofreci\u00f3 p\u00fablicamente su perd\u00f3n. Despu\u00e9s pidi\u00f3 morir de frente, con los brazos en cruz y el crucifijo entre los dedos de su mano derecha. Antes de recibir los disparos confes\u00f3 su fe as\u00ed:\u00a0<em>\u00abCreo en las palabras de Cristo: \u00abQuien me confesare delante de los hombres, tambi\u00e9n yo le reconocer\u00e9 delante de mi Padre\u00bb<\/em>\u00ab.
